Separate shopping section for Facebook app

Load ads faster

A select number of retailers can add products to this additional section and then visitors can buy them directly off the page. In a later stage, products in the “For Sale Groups” will also be added to this shopping section.

Retailer ads also have to load faster from now on: whoever clicks an ad, will be sent to a Facebook page, which should load faster than the retailer’s mobile website and which will be adapted to fit the retailer’s look and feel. Visitors who actually want to buy the product will then be able to go to the retailer’s purchase page.

American Facebook users can now also create For Sale Groups without needing the explicit consent of Facebook itself, a feature it added in September. These groups allow people to sell items to each other, creating a marketplace on Facebook.
