Showroomprivé starts international expansion of its marketplace in Belgium

Fashion23 September, 2024

Showroomprivé is bringing its marketplace to Belgium, as a first part of a wave of international expansions. The membership platform should also arrive in Spain and Portugal before the end of this year.

Test market

Showroomprivé has quietly launched its marketplace launched in Belgium: it is the first foreign launch for the company’s platform formula, which saw the light of day in 2021. Unlike Showroomprivé’s usual operations, the marketplace is not about temporary flash sales, but rather about fixed offers from partner brands. The marketplace already has about 220 sales partners in France, and about 90 in Belgium.

However, after a “great 2023” – with 85% growth for the marketplace in France – managing director Grégoire Scherer told FashionUnited that Belgium is a test market before continuing the roll-out to other countries. He believes that the marketplace is now well-established in France, so the time is right to approach other countries and expand the offering internationally.
