Hunkemöller shops at Adidas for new CEO

Brian Grevy is the successor of Philip Mountford as the CEO of lingerie chain Hunkemöller. On 1 February, he will start his new position after the Briton ends his fifteen years at the helm.

Improving customer experience

Grevy had two spells at Adidas, from 2004 to 2016 and from 2020 to earlier this year. In between, he was CEO at Gant. On 1 February, he takes over at Hunkemöller from Mountford, who had decided to step down after what he called a “love affair” of fifteen years. Grevy said in an initial statement that he will build on Hunkemöller’s strengths and want to improve the customer experience.

Mountford raised Hunkemöller from a chain with 350 shops in Benelux and France to one with almost 1,000 shops in more than twenty countries and sales of 750 million euros. Although the company ran into difficulties during the pandemic, closing some shops in Belgium and the Netherlands, those problems have since been digested. The retailer also has found new owners: Dutch investment funds Parcom and Opportunity Partners took over the company from former shareholder Carlyle, which stayed on board with a minority stake.
