More locations next year
The Auchan store in Lille will be the first to sell these products: it has a 3D customization booth, which enables customers to personalize and print certain products right there.
The product range will contain more than 50 base products, like jewelry and gifts. Customers can use an app to change the colour, add personal messages and choose accessories. The final design is then sent to the printer and it will be available in the store one week later.
If the service is considered successful, Auchan will expand the service to other locations. Both companies are already present in Belgium in The Loop, RetailDetail’s knowledge center which received a “Best Idea of 2014” nomination just last week.
