10,000 free jeans

It is not a new phenomenon to pay with social currency, like a tweet or a Facebook like, in a pop-up store. No other chain has done it so briefly as Cheap Monday, but the company believes it can still “sell” 10,000 jeans in those 10 minutes, as a thank you to its most loyal fans.

“Cheap Monday has a big following on social media. One of the most frequent requests from our fans is for us to open Cheap Monday Stores in their cities“, denim designer Carl Malgrem said. “As our fans around the world are very important and dear to us, we want to reward them. The 10 minute Pop-Up is our way of thanking them for all the loyalty, love and attention we have received during our first 10 years.”

Cheap Monday will open a pop-up store in 10 cities on 10 October. To choose the cities, there is an online shortlist to vote on. The list includes Amsterdam, Antwerp, London, Paris and Rome.
