Broad range
Both new and used games will be available online and they can be picked up at any store. “We will have a broader range of products on our website, products that do not necessarily have to be placed in stores”, concept manager Tom Henderikx told Entertainment Business.
That will allow Game Mania to have expensive and large items on sale without having to place them in each and every store. “Things like merchandising and 500 euro steering wheels for example are impossible to have in each and every store. However, as a specialty store, we have to have these items on sale”, marketing manager Sofie Peeters said.
Belgium and Netherlands
The new service has to pave the way for its own web shop, which will allow people to order online and get the items delivered at home. Game Mania does feel that it has to create added sales as it cannot damage store sales.
Game Mania has 35 Belgian and 49 Dutch stores and the new service will actually cater to people in both countries.
