Bernard Arnault shakes up leadership at LVMH brands Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton

Luxury group LVMH is making some changes at the top: Delphine Arnault, daughter of Group CEO Bernard Arnault, will take the helm at Dior. She succeeds Pietro Beccari, who will lead Louis Vuitton.

Tightening grip

It is a veritable game of musical chairs at the top of the French luxury group: Beccari, Christian Dior Couture CEO since 2018, will become CEO of Louis Vuitton on 1 February, the company reports. He replaces Michael Burke, who will take on new responsibilities after ten years at the head of the brand, reporting directly to Bernard Arnault. Delphine Arnault succeeds Beccari as CEO of Christian Dior.

Observers see the shifts as a signal that Arnault wants to tighten his grip on the luxury group, placing confidants and his own children in key positions. Last month, he appointed his son Antoine as CEO of Christian Dior SE, the family’s holding company. The 73-year-old top executive previously ensured that he can remain CEO until the age of 80 and set up a limited partnership whose shares will be divided equally among his five children, who will not be allowed to sell their stake for thirty years.
