New owner for German shoe chain Reno

HR Group, a leading shoe supplier that also operates in the Benelux, is selling its shoe chain Reno, representing some 300 outlets, to focus entirely on wholesale activities and logistics.

European growth ambitions

HR Group sells its webshop and all physical Reno shops in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to sector colleague cm.sports and investor GA Europe. All employees will transfer with them and the shops will continue to operate under the Reno banner. The new owner wants to position the retailer as an alternative for smart shopping, with a balanced mix of brands and private labels for the whole family.

HR Group wants to focus on its core business: wholesale and logistics. This will make further growth in Europe, with consignment sales, an absolute priority. In the Benelux, HR Group is a supplier to Adler, Cactus, Cora, Carrefour and INNO, among others. Belgian Erik Van Heuven, who has worked for the German company since 2009, is responsible for its expansion in Western Europe.
