Coolblue turnover up 55 % (again)

Uncategorized8 July, 2014

Monster growth for tenth quarter in a row

The company from Rotterdam is reaping the benefits of its line of specialized web shops (it currently has 160 Belgian web shops with the Coolblue logo): “We have grown more than 40 % for the tenth quarter in a row,” Zwart exclaimed in a press release. Unlike many of its competitors, Coolblue’s turnover growth has not slowed down. Its turnover ‘only’ grew 42 % in last year’s first semester.

It has managed to double its turnover in 2 years’ time: “I noticed this morning that we have already surpassed 2012’s full-year turnover”, Pieter Zwart said proudly, even though he has even more ambitious goals. “The start of the summer sales have grown 65 % compared to last year“, Werner Bruyns, Coolblue Belgium’s manager, stated.

The CEO also points out his company is not only growing because of the new web shops, but that its existing shops and its 7 physical stores are also still growing. It has 2 physical locations in Belgium (Antwerp and Lochristi), with Leuven and Hasselt still planned.
