Carrefour introduces express delivery service Sprint

Food26 October, 2021

Today, French supermarket chain Carrefour is launching its express delivery service Carrefour Sprint, delivering groceries in less than 15 minutes in collaboration with Uber Eats and Cajoo.

2000 products

Carrefour’s venture into express deliveries had already leaked about a month ago, but on the occasion of the official launch of the service, the retailer has revealed more details. Carrefour Sprint will kick off immediately with almost 2,000 food and non-food products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, ready meals, frozen meals, drinks and personal care and cleaning products. Uber Eats couriers will deliver the orders in less than 15 minutes.

The new service will initially cover the whole of central Paris as well as Boulogne, Neuilly and Levallois through the Uber Eats app. Sprint utilises the dark stores of Cajoo, a start-up in which Carrefour took a stake a few weeks ago. Carrefour Sprint will also be available in at least five other cities (Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Montpellier and Toulouse) by the end of the year.

Carrefour had already been working with Uber Eats in France: there are currently close to a thousand Carrefour stores available on the Uber Eats app, spread across 160 French cities. They deliver 6,000 different products in less than 30 minutes.
