Action targets German and French growth

Room for discount stores

Van der Mark believes there is space for another 1,000 to 1,500 stores in Germany, while France should be able to house another 1,000 stores according to RetailNews. The CEO is in any case quite ambitious as Action currently only has 23 German stores and even fewer in France, with 17. The large majority of its 400 stores currently can be found in the Netherlands and in Belgium.

He believes France is a huge growth market as there are not as many discount stores there and the Action stores that are present in France are performing very well. The German Action stores are doing okay, but their performance is just below average.
