Intersport France is taking over the Spanish operations of the sports chain. The group wants to consolidate in Europe to increase its scale. The Belgian and Luxembourg stores are already being supplied by the French service center.

Following approval by the Spanish commercial court, Intersport France will obtain the license for the Spanish market. The independent stores in Belgium and Luxembourg are already supported from France; with Spain now added, a southern European hub is being created that also includes Portugal. According to the group, this structure will increase efficiency, harmonize operational standards, and roll out successful store models more quickly in the region.
