The 2021 Summer Olympics were tepid at best, due to the Covid-19 restrictions in Tokyo. Now, however, the Olympics are back in full swing, research company Kantar says. It mentions Paris 2024 as the biggest global sporting event since the 2016 Rio Games. Maybe even more than about sports, the Games are also about culture, community and entertainment – and that presents huge opportunities for brands.
There are more ways than ever to reach consumers this year. Official sponsorship (accounting for a whopping billion dollars in revenue) is of course the best way to impress, but the Olympic Committee has also relaxed the rules for other brands.
