Bike Totaal aims to have 50 bicycle shops in Flanders by the end of 2030

The first of six Bike Totaal stores in Belgium opened Thursday in Pelt. In a consolidating bicycle market, the soft franchise model from the Dutch Dynamo Retail Group aims to take the pressure off independent entrepreneurs.

Concept adapted

Consentec Bicycle Shop, a well-established business in Pelt since 2013, is the first in Flanders to operate under the Bike Totaal name. Stores in Ingelmunster, Kortessem, Herselt, Maldegem, and Sint-Eloois-Vijve will follow later this month. This is just the beginning for the Dutch bicycle chain: by the end of 2030, the retailer aims to have about fifty stores here, says country manager Raf Lavigne, who has extensive experience in the bicycle industry, including at the recently collapsed Accell Group, known for Batavus and Sparta.
