CEO Bolia hands over the reins after 21 years

The Danish furniture chain Bolia is preparing for a change in leadership. CEO Lars Lyse Hansen will step down in August 2027, after more than 21 years at the helm. Current Chief Operating Officer Thomas Bendiks Lauridsen will succeed him.

Continuity at the top

Under Hansen, Bolia grew from a small Danish furniture manufacturer into an international design brand. The company now has more than 100 stores in 14 markets, sells online in 30 countries, and works with over 400 wholesale partners worldwide. According to Bolia, the leadership transition is taking place at a time when the company says it is stronger than ever.

With Lauridsen, Bolia is explicitly opting for continuity. The future CEO has been with the company for nearly three years and has worked closely with Hansen and the rest of the management team during that time. The company therefore calls him the “natural choice” to lead the next phase of growth. Over the coming year, both executives will work together on the transition.

“I am truly honored and excited to have been entrusted with leading Bolia into its next chapter,” says Lauridsen. “Together with our talented colleagues, designers, and partners, I look forward to building on our strong foundations and continuing Bolia’s journey of growth, innovation, and inspiring design.”
