Tedi continues Belgian expansion

Discounter Tedi is continuing its Belgian expansion: straight after the acquisition of ten former Bristol stores, a new location in North-eastern Maaseik opens.

The new store will be the fifth in Belgian Limburg, and opens on 25 October van start in shopping centre Kloosterbempden, in a 850 sqm building, Made-in reports. The store follows the expansion with ten stores the chain acquired last month after Bristol’s bankruptcy. A first store in Antwerp opened earlier this month in shopping centre Den Tir.

Tedi has recently increased its store target to 10,000 across Europe, twice as many as its rival Action aspires. The German chain aims to expand both through new stores opening and the acquisition of smaller discount chains who can not compete with the juggernauts Tedi and Action any more.
