With the brand new tram line dropping shoppers at the doorstep of Galeries St Lambert after years of large-scale works, the Liège shopping centre hopes to grow again to seven million visitors a year.
A long ordeal
For the past six years, Liège city centre has been one huge construction site due to major infrastructure works. On top of this came the drastic pandemic: needless to emphasise that Liège’s retailers had to undergo a long ordeal. That is now fortunately behind us: the tram line has been operational for a few weeks, with a stop in front of the Galeries St Lambert inner-city shopping centre, which opened in 2004 and has been owned by AG Real Estate since 2015.
