RetailDetail looks back on a highly successful thirteenth edition of RetailDetail Night, held last Thursday in the beautiful setting of the Handelsbeurs in Antwerp: a stylish end-of-year party with a good turnout and fascinating content.

Next edition: November 19, 2026

More than 400 top profiles from the Benelux turned up for the retail sector’s festive end-of-year event in Antwerp on November 20. Two fascinating preliminary programs kicked off the event. Gamechangers presented the visions for the future of Stefanie Grijp (Q8), Willem Wijnen (Xandres), Eric Spapens (Visa), and RetailDetail founder Jorg Snoeck. In the Fail Forward pre-program, Pascale Switten (Cameleon), Mark Vandevelde (Komrads), Stijn Martens (Hopr), and Alain Hellebaut (Maxi Toys) showed their vulnerability with testimonials about failure as a learning moment.

In the evening, there was not a single seat left unoccupied in the Handelsbeurs for dinner. With the traditional annual review—including predictions—by Gino Van Ossel, a few words from country manager Peter Theunis of main sponsor Visa, the panel discussion with Anaïs Claes (Claes Retail Group), Geoffroy Gersdorff (Carrefour Belgium), Olivier Van den Bossche (MediaMarkt), and Wouter Kolk, a compelling analysis by trend watcher Tom Palmaerts (Trendwolves), and the presentation of the Folder of the Year awards. We will publish separate articles about these interventions.

A wider selection of photos can be viewed on the RetailDetail Facebook page. Save the date for the next RetailDetail Night, which will take place on November 19, 2026. The full calendar for RetailDetail events in 2026 can be found here.
