After just under a year in charge of RetailDetail, CEO Bie Buelens has decided to step down and return to her first love, retail. Founder Jorg Snoeck takes charge of the company again.

Today, 8 December, Buelens’ mandate as RetailDetail CEO ends, and the Chief Executive has decided to leave the company for her first love, the retail itself. She does so with a good feeling: financial results are positive, the team is stable, and the company has enjoyed a lot of new and successful initiatives regarding HR and Masterclasses. The post-pandemic period has also seen a return to a series of highly-rated events, with as crowning jewel the fully sold-out RetailDetail Night, the first following a completely new concept.
“Bie has sped up the organisation, both in RetailDetail as in our knowledge centre RetailHub”, Snoeck said. “We have come through a difficult year unscathed. Now I am ready again, with new projects to lead the company into a new phase of growth.”
On 12 December, Bie Buelens will start a project-based tenure at e5 as COO.
