Blokker continues its growth in the Netherlands with five new stores scheduled to open starting in early October. This brings the home goods chain’s total number of stores to 66, 12 of which are franchise locations.
“Just in time for the busiest time of the year”
Blokker has announced the planned opening of five new stores: in Groningen, Roosendaal, Rijssen, Hellevoetsluis, and Blerick. “The five openings we had in July have been a success so far, and we look forward to their further development this fall,” says Blokker’s real estate manager, Riko van Kooten.
“Just in time for the busiest time of the year, we’re announcing five more new openings. We’re already in positive discussions with landlords about additional locations in 2027. We’re still open to suggestions from both landlords and customers about where the next Blokker stores should be opened.”
Following its bankruptcy in November 2024, Blokker made a successful comeback under the leadership of entrepreneur and family scion Roland Palmer. Eventually, the chain aims to have 200 stores in the Netherlands. At one point, there were more than 400.
