Spanish chocolate producer Natra has acquired its smaller Belgian counterpart Gudrun, adding to previous Belgian acquisitions such as Jacali.
Private label producer
Gudrun, founded in 1942, produces private label chocolate products for a range of international retailers. The company has production and storage facilities in Belgium and Poland. Its 2023 (financial year) turnover was 46.6 million euros and its net profit was 1.2 million, making it ten times smaller than its new owners.
The praline producer will continue its growth trajectory within a larger structure. Spain’s Natra operates in more than ninety countries and has 1,000 employees across six production facilities in Belgium, Canada, France and Spain. Financial details of the transaction are not being released.
