Dutch hospitality wholesaler Sligro has acquired Gepu a self-service wholesaler based in Utrecht. The acquisition allows Sligro to raise its turnover by fifteen million euros.
For continuity
Gepu has been in business for half a century as family-owned company and wants to ensure continuity for its customers and employees through this acquisition, CEO Wilbert van der Putten told Dutch newspaper Financieele Dagblad.
The delivery activities will be taken over by the Sligro site in Vianen, while the physical store will disappear. Customers will now be able to purchase from existing Sligro outlets in the region. The takeover is expected to be finalised this year, but the companies have not disclosed the acquisition price.
