Nestlé allowed to continue producing Perrier in France

Nestlé has been given the green light to continue producing Perrier in Vergèze, France, and label it as natural mineral water. This will be done under strict conditions and increased supervision. The prefect of the Gard department has approved an application from its subsidiary Nestlé Waters Supply Sud.

Two of five boreholes

The decision does specify that Nestlé may now only extract natural mineral water from two boreholes at its site in southern France. This will be done under stricter supervision than before. Nestlé did not submit an application for three other boreholes, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. In mid-August, the company requested a review of its operating license for the bottling of the carbonated mineral water Source Perrier.
