Italian supermarket group Esselunga is leaving purchasing alliance Epic Partners, reportedly at the request of the latter. It is already the third member in a short period to (be asked to) leave.
Too small?
The international purchasing association has asked the Italian chain to leave, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports. The decision is said to have been made by Epic Partners, although the exact reasons for the parting of ways remain unnamed. Two suspected reasons are Esselunga’s limited scale and annoyance over a perceived lack of solidarity.
