Delhaize Luxembourg

Nicolas Gueuzurian is the new Country Director for Delhaize‘s activities in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Until recently, he was Marketing Director at Auchan Luxembourg, but he will succeed Cédric Gonnet on 1 April.

“At a crucial moment”

Last November, Gonnet left Delhaize to become COO at Cactus, the market leader in Luxembourg. The retailer has now found a successor: on 1 April, Gueuzurian will start as Country Director Luxembourg. He has worked at Auchan Luxembourg since 2013 in various positions, until recently as Marketing and E-Commerce Director. “I am honoured to join Delhaize Luxembourg at a crucial moment for the retail sector, where consumer expectations are changing rapidly and innovation is essential to differentiate oneself”, he says.

“With his solid experience in the retail sector and strong roots in Luxembourg, his mission will be to continue the growth and development of Delhaize in the Grand Duchy, by strengthening the company’s commitment to quality, innovation and customer satisfaction”, the chain states in a press release.

Delhaize has 63 stores in Luxembourg. Two Alima supermarkets, which the retailer acquired at the end of last year, recently reopened as Proxy Delhaize.

Belgium is no longer among the top five beer-producing countries in Europe, although this is mainly due to an administrative error. Beer production is declining just about everywhere, except in Spain.
