Marks & Spencer (M&S) has expanded its partnership with Zalando: through the German fashion platform, the British retailer can now cost-effectively serve consumers in 22 European markets.
Shorter delivery times, lower costs
Zeos, Zalando’s B2B logistics division, will now handle M&S’s online orders in 22 European countries, including the retailer’s largest online markets: France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain. The British department store chain announced this in a press release. The new partnership is expected to accelerate the growth of M&S’s online channel across Europe, while reducing logistics costs by as much as half.
The expansion follows a successful pilot in Poland, during which customer demand increased by 22% and conversion rates improved by more than 97%. At the same time, delivery times were shortened and shipping costs fell by 58%. The processing of returns has also improved significantly: the turnaround time has been reduced from a maximum of 35 days to just eight days, allowing products to be put back on sale more quickly and increasing availability for customers.
