Abercrombie & Fitch will close its only Belgian store (on Avenue Louise in Brussels) in January, meaning its complete withdrawal from Belgium. Approximately fifteen jobs will be lost.
Closing soon
The store on Avenue Louise opened in 2022 and will close permanently next month. This means that the brand will once again disappear from Belgium. It is estimated that around fifteen employees will lose their jobs. Some staff members have already negotiated their departure.
The fashion company is controversial due to the way it handles clothing sizes.
Hollister, the other brand of the same group, will remain in Belgium. The brand is even considering opening a new store next summer.
