Mango is rapidly expanding in the United States: with a store in Chicago, the chain has reached the milestone of sixty locations in the US. The progress is remarkable: the chain only reached fifty stores in June.
Twenty stores in one year
The new store on the Magnificent Mile covers 1,000 sqm and offers both the women’s and men’s collections. The interior design follows the New Med concept, which aims to give the store a Mediterranean feel. This is intended to reflect Mango’s “spirit and freshness” with warm tones and neutral colours, combined with traditional and natural materials. Through collaboration with local teams, Mango wants to give that Mediterranean feel a “local twist.”
“Expanding Mango’s footprint to a city like Chicago is a important achievement for the entire Mango team and reaffirms our deep commitment to our U.S. customers”, Chief Expansion Officer Daniel López said in a press release. “Our location on Chicago’s prestigious Magnificent Mile is a testament to the warm reception of our unique value proposition in the U.S. and marks another strategic move in strengthening our footprint across the country.”
Mango has only started operating in the United States in 2022, but is expanding intensively following its 2024-2026 strategic plan. The Spanish fashion chain hopes to reach twenty new stores this year, which would require it to open five additional stores before the end of the year. If successful, the US should be one of Mango’s three largest markets by the next fiscal year.
