Media-Saturn's new formula focuses on technology

Electronics3 November, 2015

New technologies

The very first stores using this new formula will be located in the German cities of Trier and Cologne. Store sizes will be between 300 and 700 sqm and mainly sell items like wearables and home automation. The main inspiration are Saturn Connect stores, which are located in Poland, and Media Markt City in Turkey.

Media-Saturn also wants to use more new technologies in its other stores, like a customer card to gather information about its customers so that employees can help customers based on the card’s information. Let’s say a customer requires a cable for their smartphone, then the card’s information could reveal the type of smartphone. The new customer card will be trialed at a few of Media-Saturn’s stores in Berlin.

It has already launched several pilot programs that allow customers to create their own kitchen using “virtual reality”, while other stores give tablets to employees so that they can help customers more quickly.
