Key strategic growth pillars such as services, retail media and the marketplace are helping Ceconomy put up strong numbers ahead of its acquisition by Chinese e-commerce company JD.com.

Omnichannel approach works

The group behind electronics retailers MediaMarkt and Saturn saw sales and profitability grow in the first nine months of its financial year 2024/25. In the third quarter, sales rose 5.1 % to 4.8 billion euros; over the first three quarters, growth was even 5.5 % (to 17.6 billion). For those nine months, adjusted gross profit (EBIT) rose 27.8 % to 258 million, following a tenth consecutive quarterly improvement.
