Krëfel closes four Belgian stores

Electronics chain Krëfel has announced it will close four shops in Belgium. The chain, part of the United.b group assures its employees that no jobs will be lost.

The shops that are due to close by December are those in Andenne (province of Namur), Boussu (Hainaut), Flémalle (Liège) and Vilvoorde (Flemish Brabant). The shop closures will not lead to job losses: “The management has committed to finding a solution for the staff so that they can be deployed in other shops“, Virginie Wégimont of the trade union CNE Commerces told local news medium Sudinfo.

Last year, Krëfel had already reduced its number of showrooms by fifteen after deciding to quit selling kitchens and focus on household electronics instead. At the time, 41 employees were affected. The retailer with 73 shops in Belgium is part of United.b, which also includes Boulanger and Electro Dépôt.
