Belgian drugstore chain Medi-Market is taking a next step in its European expansion. By opening its first Dutch store in Maastricht on 21 May, the chain enters its fourth market.
Instantly omnichannel
Since its foundation in 2014, Medi-Market has grown into a chain with more than 160 branches in Belgium, Luxembourg and Italy. Last year, the chain started looking at expanding to Spain, but now it is entering the Netherlands first.
The offer in the new Maastricht store includes products for hygiene, care, beauty, nutrition and dietetics. Brands such as Lucovitaal and Roter are specifically part of the Dutch range. Thanks to its location near Belgium and Germany, Maastricht also plays a strategic role: the chain targets an international customer base.
Along with the physical store opening, Medi-Market is also expanding its online platform. With this, the chain will offer a full omnichannel experience from day one, in line with its ambitions to become Europe’s most trusted reference point for health and well-being.
