The Belgian Chocolate House conquers city centres

Food19 July, 2018

For the first time, The Belgian Chocolate House (the world’s largest chocolate retailer, selling 1000 tonnes per year) has opened a store in a Belgian shopping street. Antwerp has had the honour of receiving the chocolate store, where products can be immediately consumed.

Ninth store

The new store is set in the Leysstraat, an important passageway for tourists – a major target market for the chain. Most attention goes to brands like Neuhaus, Pierre Marcolini en Corné Port-Royal. It is the chain’s ninth store, after five stores at Brussels Airport, two in the Eurostar station Brussels-South and one in Luxembourg. The Belgian Chocolate House claims to be the world’s largest seller of chocolate: “we sell 1.4 kilo per minute, 24/7!”

Belgians turn Sunday into a full-fledged grocery shopping day
