The e-commerce platform eBay is cutting approximately 1,000 jobs worldwide, representing 9% of its workforce. This is already the second major round of layoffs this year. The U.S.-based marketplace aims to streamline its organization and invest more in growth categories such as luxury goods, secondhand fashion, and refurbished products.

“Our strategy is working”

Following the layoff of 800 employees in February, eBay is once again announcing a major restructuring. In total, about 1,800 jobs will be cut this year. At the end of 2025, the company still had 12,300 employees. The affected employees will receive clarity about their future in the coming days.
