Magic trading cards perform miracles for Hasbro

Toy manufacturer Hasbro exceeded expectations with 15% revenue growth and a 52% jump in profits in the third quarter. The card game Magic: The Gathering in particular is proving to be a gold mine. The U.S. company is raising its full-year forecast.

Magic breaks records

Hasbro posted third-quarter revenue of $1.59 billion (€1.42 billion), up 15% from a year earlier. With these results, the group more than exceeded analysts’ expectations. Adjusted operating profit even rose by 52% to $541 million (€482 million).
