A.S.Adventure

In the first half of 2026, use of the Care & Repair services at A.S.Adventure rose by about 15% compared to the same period last year. The Belgian outdoor and lifestyle retailer, a sister company of Cotswold Outdoor, is now further expanding its repair services.

Now including backpacks

In the first half of 2026, use of A.S.Adventure’s laundry service rose by 10% compared to the same period last year. Shoe maintenance grew by 18%, and shoe repairs by 21%. The sewing workshop saw the number of repair orders increase by over 14%. Across its various Care & Repair services, A.S.Adventure has seen growth of approximately 15% compared to 2025.

Meanwhile, the range of repair services continues to expand: since this summer, the Care & Repair Center in Hoboken—which the retailer opened in 2024—has also been repairing backpacks. Even items that at first glance seem beyond repair are given a second chance there, says the retailer, which is sharing this news in conjunction with International Repair Day on October 17, a day that draws global attention to the importance of repair.

“Making sustainability tangible”

“A product that is repaired and put back into use after years of use is perhaps the best proof of quality. By helping customers use their gear longer, we make sustainability tangible and accessible. Repair is not an end point, but a new chapter in a product’s lifespan,” says Bea De Beuckelaer, CEO of A.S.Adventure.

The British record store HMV is closing its iconic flagship store on Oxford Street in London, barely three years after it reopened. The main reason for the closure: the building’s owner wants to double the rent. There are also looming major renovation costs that would make the store commercially unsustainable.
