Carrefour’s nearly 500 stores in Romania, which were acquired earlier this year by the local Pavăl Holding, will all be given a completely new identity starting next year, under the somewhat familiar-sounding name Korra.
Carrefour brand disappears after 25 years
A major rebranding effort is planned for Carrefour’s 478 stores in Romania, which are now owned by Pavăl Holding, also the owner of the local DIY chain Dedeman. Starting next year, these stores will be renamed Korra and will also adopt a new corporate identity. The name change applies to all store formats, from large hypermarkets to small neighborhood stores. As a result, the Carrefour brand will disappear from the Romanian market after 25 years, reports the Romanian news portal Profit.ro.
