Aldi is introducing a selection of about 40 on-the-go items in its refrigerated displays, including wraps, pasta and meal salads, chilled beverages, and smoothies. No single product costs more than five euros.

Customers can find exactly what they need right away

The refrigerated sections of most Aldi stores in Belgium will feature a separate selection of about 40 products that customers can easily take with them and enjoy right away. The selection ranges from wraps and pasta salads to pre-cut fruit, juices, iced coffees, and chilled beverages—all for less than 5 euros.

This includes about 25 existing products and around 15 brand-new items. There are quite a few new additions, especially among the chilled beverages, including River elderflower collagen drink, chilled coffees under the Barissimo house brand, smoothies, and fresh fruit juices.

“With this new selection, we primarily want to make things easy for our customers when they’re short on time,” says purchasing director Natalie Duthoy. “That could be lunch during the workday, a snack on the way to school, or a drink to enjoy on the train. We’re now clearly grouping these products together in the refrigerated section so customers can immediately find what they need.”
