Data breach at De Bijenkorf: customer data was indeed accessed

De Bijenkorf confirms that unauthorized parties did indeed gain access to customers’ personal data during the major data breach at its logistics partner. This had been suspected earlier, but the department store chain is now certain. The incident also affected other major companies, including Bol, Ace & Tate, Zalando, and ING.

An investigation by the logistics service provider reveals that unauthorized individuals did in fact access the system containing customer data. De Bijenkorf is notifying affected customers by email.
