Delhaize is allocating 120 million euros to expand its logistics capacity. The supermarket chain is building, among other things, a new distribution center for fresh products in Zellik. The investment is expected to create 130 new permanent jobs, but also a labor reform.
Capacity for further growth
The retailer is continuing to expand its store network and at the same time wants to attract existing customers to its stores more often. As a result, the current logistics network and the existing work organization risk reaching their capacity limits over time, according to CEO Alexandros Boussis.
