Amazon is planning a second major round of layoffs next week as part of its broader goal of cutting approximately 30,000 corporate jobs. The retailer already cut 14,000 jobs in October.

The news has not yet been communicated by Amazon itself, but was leaked by internal sources to the Reuters and Bloomberg press agencies. In October last year, Amazon already cut around 14,000 jobs, which represents about half of the previously reported target of 30,000 jobs. Next week, the number is expected to be similar. The planned layoffs are expected to affect jobs within the Amazon Web Services, retail, Prime Video, and People Experience and Technology departments.
