The European Commission has approved the acquisition of Délifrance by Vandemoortele. The sale of two factories has removed a least one obstacle to the creation of a huge unified player in the frozen bakery products market.
Two factories sold
Vandemoortele announced the deal in March, but still needed European approval. The transaction was notified to the Commission on 30 October, which then examined in particular the position of the new player with regard to a number of frozen puff pastry products on the French and Italian markets.
