Almost three years after Makro Belgium went bankrupt, hundreds of former employees are still waiting for a significant portion of their severance pay. The settlement of the bankruptcy is being held up by a series of ongoing legal proceedings, including a case against parent company Metro.
More than 100,000 euros in pay
Makro closed its last Belgian branch in Deurne on 30 December 2022. On 10 January 2023, the court declared bankruptcy, but that process has still not been completed. The receiver is still working on the final settlement, reports Gazet van Antwerpen.
