Dutch electronics giant Coolblue has opened a new logistics centre in Berlin. The Rotterdam-based company is also preparing to open a store near the Kurfürstendamm, which is set to open in a few months’ time.
Own delivery service and city centre store
Last week, Coolblue opened a 2,600 sqm warehouse near Berlin-Brandenburg Airport. From this site, the company will provide next-day deliveries and installations of household appliances and televisions in the Greater Berlin area and parts of eastern Germany. Smaller electronic products (such as smartphones and laptops) are already delivered nationwide via partner DHL.
In the second quarter of next year, Coolblue also plans to open its first Berlin store on Tauentzienstraße, with 1,756 sqm of retail space. The location is very prominent in the city centre, between Kurfürstendamm and KaDeWe. According to country manager Urs Möller, Coolblue wants to “create a refreshing shopping experience with personal advice, interactive product presentations and digital services, with the aim of not only satisfying customers – but inspiring them.”
