Kruidvat Belgium will start suppling nappies, nappy wipes and baby food from its private label brand to Ghent University Hospital. “A wonderful recognition of our product range”, director Bert Verhoef thinks.
“Confirmation of quality”
Drugstore chain Kruidvat, the Benelux subsidiary of AS Watson Group, has started a four-year collaboration with the hospital for three product groups: nappies, nappy wipes, and baby food (fruit and vegetable jars). The products came out on top in a European tendering procedure in which several suppliers were assessed on product quality, practical usability, delivery reliability and total cost.
The decision is remarkable: hospitals usually opt for diapers from a premium brand such as Pampers. “The fact that a renowned hospital such as UZ Gent has chosen Kruidvat is a great recognition of our product range”, Verhoef, director says. “The choice confirms the quality of our nappies, which are much more affordable than A-brands. New mums and dads want the best for their baby and do not have to choose the most expensive option to do that. We deliver according to the agreed specifications and delivery schedules and support the teams in the implementation.”
