Spanish short-chain platform CrowdFarming has acquired French La Ruche qui dit Oui. Together, they reach more than 10,000 farmers and some 1.5 million consumers.
Online embraces physical
According to both parties, the merger creates “the largest direct farm-to-table sales channel” in Europe. CrowdFarming originated 15 years ago, when the Úrculo brothers set up a website to sell their oranges directly to consumers. The platform has since expanded into a marketplace where thousands of European farmers offer their produce.
