A new Thai factory for Biscoff cookies will be able to open earlier, allowing Lotus Bakeries to avoid shortages in the popular biscuit. The Belgian biscuit producer managed to raise sales and profit starkly in the first half of 2025.
Reassuring news
After publishing record annual results for 2024, Lotus Bakeries had warned that there would be no more than 10 % volume growth for its star product Biscoff this year: production simply could not handle growing demand, and a new factory in Thailand would not become operational until the second quarter of 2026. However, the company now announced that the plant will begin production later this year, although not yet at full capacity.
