The European Union is currently conducting a wide-ranging investigation into violations by Chinese e-retailers. EU Commissioner for Justice Michael McGrath describes some of the preliminary results as “shocking”.

With the astonishing growth of platforms like AliExpress, Shein and Temu, European consumers are increasingly likely to encounter products that may not meet safety standards. Commissioner McGrath expressed his “shock” at the dangers and toxicity of certain products, The Guardian reports: “I think we have a duty to protect European consumers,” he said.
