The Belgian government has agreed to a number of measures in a ‘summer framework’, including some that have significant implications for the retail sector. In a nutshell: labour becomes more flexible, a “Vinted exemption” is enlarged and tax on soy milk is reduced.
Flexible labour
The biggest impact of the new agreement will undoubtedly be the many measures to make labour more flexible. Employer organisations are very pleased with the agreement, while trade unions are preparing to resist what they call the destruction of the welfare state.
