Jumbo has recruited reputable marketing consultant René Repko as marketing director ad interim, following the unexpected departure of Jorieke de Vries, who came over from Lidl only two years ago.
Big name
Earlier this week, marketing director Jorieke de Vries announced she was leaving Jumbo as of 1 August, less than two years after she made the move from Lidl. In response, Jumbo has now appointed René Repko as marketing director on an interim basis. He will start his temporary role on 15 July, reports Marketing Report. How long he will stay is not clear.
Repko is a big name in the Dutch marketing world. He was marketing director at Albert Heijn for six years, and at HEMA for eight years. After that, he also worked for Sligro, Rituals and Action, among others. He has had his own consulting firm, The New Bazaar, since 2018.
Noteworthy: two key positions at Jumbo are now held by interim managers. After all, top executive Tom Heidman is also holding his position temporarily pending the appointment of a CEO – or the return of Frits van Eerd, who knows.
